Nakano came to Bangladesh in July 2021 to try to gain custody of her children, which she fought a legal battle that lasted for months.

On November 21, 2021, the High Court ruled that the custody of both the children would be with Imran.

However, he had to allow his mother to visit him privately.

Nakano then challenged the decision in the Supreme Court that handed him over to his mother because Imran failed to comply with the Appellate Division’s instructions.

The Appellate Division ruled on February 13, 2022, that the two children, Nakano and Imran, would remain with their mother until the case filed by the father for custody of the children was resolved in family court.
