Bangladesh diplomats at Rakhine mission shifted to Yangon amid escalating conflict

Bangladesh’s consulate in Rakhine state capital Sittwe is being shifted to Yangon as fighting continues between the rebel Arakan Army and government forces in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.

Three people, including family members, were shifted on Sunday.

Bangladesh Ambassador Mohammad Monwar Hossain confirmed this to Prothom Alo on Sunday.

He said that six people including diplomats are working on that mission. Apart from this, there are also four family members there.

Three people were shifted yesterday.
