The Election Commission (EC) has decided to deploy the army for 13 days before and after the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections. Members of the armed forces will be deployed in all 300 constituencies in the country from December 29 to January 10.
Under ‘In Aid to Civil Power’, the army will be deployed to help the civil administration.
The EC gave this information to the Chief Staff Officer of Bangladesh Armed Services Board in a letter on Tuesday. In the letter, necessary initiatives have been requested in accordance with the decision of the Election Commission.
