Bangladesh hands over humanitarian aid to war-hit Gaza Strip

The Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, handed over the first tranche of humanitarian aid consignment for the war-affected people of Gaza Strip to the Palestinian envoy in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.

A press release from the Ministry of External Affairs said Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen handed over a representation box of relief material to the envoy.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shahryar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen, Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present during the ceremony.

The humanitarian aid included dry food items including dry cakes, biscuits, emergency medical items, hygiene items for women and children, etc.

The first tranche of the consignment consisted of 587 kg of relief material which was sent to Cairo, Egypt through a regular flight of Egypt Airways.
