Bangladesh lags behind global average in ICT index: latest report reveals

The IDI mainly highlighted universal and meaningful connectivity (UMC).

Achieving universal connectivity means that people, homes, communities and businesses are connected. Universal connectivity for people means that anyone can connect regardless of their urban or rural location, gender, education level, etc. Universal connectivity for homes, communities and businesses means the places where people live, work, learn and interact are connected. Bangladesh scored 39.2 percent marks.

Meaningful connectivity depends on many factors; which have high-quality infrastructure that allows fast and reliable connections; Access to internet and devices at affordable prices; Digital illiteracy, and a safe and secure internet. Bangladesh scored 83rd in meaningful connectivity.
