Sri Lanka won the second T20 International at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, setting Bangladesh a target of 166 runs and leveling the three-match series.

Bangladesh, bowling first, displayed disciplined bowling and restricted Sri Lanka to 165 runs for 5 wickets.

Bangladesh got a good start by getting initial success. Shoriful Islam started the innings by bowling a maiden over. As the pressure built, Avisha Fernando tried to free her hand in the second over and paid the price by top-edging a length delivery from Taskin Ahmed. The opening batsman was caught and bowled for a duck in 7 balls.

Kamindu Mendis joined Kusal Mendis but the Bangladeshi fast bowlers kept them quiet till the third over and gave only 8 runs to the visitors. However, two Mendis runs scored 17 runs in the fourth over bowled by Taskin and set the tone for his team. The Lankan team scored 49 runs in the powerplay.
