Harun details the horrific discovery of Anwarul Azim's mutilated body parts in the septic tank of a flat in Sanjeev Garden in New Town, Kolkata. One of the primary purposes of the trip to India was to recover these remains. The Kolkata police will conduct DNA tests on the body parts and provide final confirmation.
Haroun said the body parts were found in a place where human flesh is not usually found.
“This makes us suspect that they belong to Anwarul Azim. The Kolkata police will soon reveal the results of the DNA test,” Harun said.
Three people have been arrested in Bangladesh in connection with the murder, including Amanullah, also known as Shimul Bhuiyan, who is said to be the main killer. Shimul Bhuiyan had several meetings with the mastermind of the murder and information from him was confirmed in India.
Harun said Bangladesh police have shared information with India's CID, which is investigating the case, and they have confirmed the veracity of the information provided by the arrested suspects. Initial findings suggest the murder was planned two months ago, with two attempts made before the successful third attempt.
