Bangladesh registers thrilling win over Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup opener

Bangladesh registered a thrilling two-wicket win over Sri Lanka in a Group D match of the T20 World Cup in Grand Prairie, Texas on Saturday.

Sri Lanka posted a modest target of 125 after being invited to bat but pacer Mustafizur Rahman and spinner Rishad Hossain took three wickets each.

Chasing the target, Bangladesh fell twice to the disciplined Sri Lankan bowlers despite whirlwind knocks from Tauheed Ridoy (40 off 20 balls) and Liton Das (36 off 38 balls) but eventually the veteran Mahmudullah guided the Tigers to victory with one over to spare.
