Bangladesh Television to air popular serial ‘Ei Shob Din Ratri’ again

Ei Shob Din Ratri (All These Nights and Days) was one of the most popular TV serials of Bangladesh in mid 80s. It was scripted by popular novelist and dramatist Humayun Ahmed. This TV drama was story of a middle class family in Dhaka. Various everyday difficulties of educated middle class including financial issues, love, marriage, death, etc was focused in this TV drama. This drama had a cute girl character “Tuni”. Everybody loved her. She had Leukemia. Many viewers requested the dramatist Humayun Ahmed to save the character “Tuni”. But Humayun decided to follow the course of literature. Tuni died.
It was produced by state owned Bangladesh Television. At that time there was only one terrestrial TV channel in Bangladesh and it was before cable TV and satellite TV era. City streets used to become deserted during the evening when the drama was aired.
In this time of coronavirus pandemic when people are forced to stay at home, mental health has become a concern. So in a bid to relieve mental stress, Bangladesh Television has decided to air TV dramas from archive again. It will start from Monday.
