As per the new project proposal, the elevated road will also establish a direct link between Mithmoi Cantonment and Karimganj Upazila, while improving road connectivity between Kishorganj’s upazilas – Itna, Mithmoi and Ostagram.
Under the project, 13.4 km long road will also be widened from Nakabhanga intersection of Kishoreganj to Morichkhali market.
Planning Minister MA Mannan said the project would be implemented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges with a deadline of June 2028.
The Planning Minister said that eleven other projects totaling Taka 106.83 billion were approved at the ECNEC meeting.
