A Dhaka tribunal has sentenced an air hostess to 10 years in jail for seizing 9.5 kg of smuggled gold recovered from her during searches at the Shahjalal International Airport three years ago.

Convict Ruqaiya Sheikh Moushumi and her relatives broke down in tears in the courtroom after Special Tribunal-2 Judge Faisal Ateeq bin Qader pronounced the verdict on Monday. After the verdict was announced, he was taken back to jail.
