According to the BGB and police, a group of people, including youth, had gone to the Indian border to fetch cattle at around 11 pm.
He said that sensing the presence of suspected cattle smugglers, BSF members targeted them from the border and opened fire, due to which Kalam was seriously injured.
Later, his colleagues took him to Patgram Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him brought dead.
