Bangladesh’s development model will inspire others: WB official

World Bank Executive Director Parameswaran Iyer said on Thursday that Bangladesh’s development model can be followed by other developing countries.

“Bangladesh has seen an unprecedented change,” he said while paying a courtesy call at Gana Bhavan, the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka in the morning.

After the meeting, PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the journalists.
Appreciating the Prime Minister, Aiyar said that Bangladesh’s development has happened because of his leadership and planning.

He conveyed the best wishes of the West Bengal President to the Prime Minister.

He said the World Bank would assist Bangladesh in improving infrastructure in the next phase of its development journey.

The WB official said that the private sector in Bangladesh is flourishing.
