Bangladesh’s foreign ministry says recommendations of India’s parliamentary body on Teesta water sharing agreement encouraging

The Standing Committee, comprising MPs from all parties, presented the report on ‘India’s Neighborhood First Policy’ to the Rajya Sabha (Upper House) and Lok Sabha (Lower House) on 25 July.

PP Chowdhary, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, is from the BJP.

According to media reports, important members of Parliament such as former Home Minister and Indian National Congress leader P Chidambaram, Trinamool Congress’s Abhishek Banerjee, BJP MP Swapan Dasgutpa and other 27 members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha are members of the committee.
