According to sources, without any prior notice or indication of agenda, the chairmen and managing directors of the four banks were summoned to the central bank on Wednesday.
In a meeting, officials of Sonali Bank and BDBL were informed about the government's decision on their merger. Later, in a similar meeting the top officials of BKB and RAKUB were informed about the decision on their merger.
