One of the workers, Imrul Hasan, said they informed the contractor about the issue, but no instructions came till evening.

Nazrul said he suffered because of the construction of the station, which occupied a portion of his land – five inches wide and 20 feet long. “Only one leg is left and they tried to pour concrete there. Neither the company nor the government told me anything about this.

Nazrul said the government-owned Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited sent him a letter three months ago, saying he would be required to give up 10 feet of land to the government and receive compensation as per law.
