Additional BGB members have been deployed at several border points in Benapole including Raghunathpur, Shikarpur, Sadipur, Ghiba, Putkhali, Goga, Daulatpur and Rudrapur.
Patrolling and round-the-clock surveillance has also been intensified in those areas.
Officials have also warned people against unnecessary movement near border areas, especially at night.
“The border is being closely monitored to ensure that no infiltrators enter Bangladesh from India. Additional patrolling measures have also been strengthened,” Colonel Golam Mohammed said.
Sources said that security has been tightened in view of the situation after the elections in West Bengal.
