US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that his administration had done what was possible with the available authorities to address the banking crisis, but the White House response to the matter “is not over yet.”
“We have done what we need to do operationally. I believe things are settling down. The market is responding,” Biden told reporters before leaving for North Carolina to return to the White House.
Asked whether his administration has ended its unilateral moves to relieve stress in the banking sector, in addition to congressional action, Biden said: “No, it’s not over yet. We are watching very closely. I think my team has handled it very well so far. And instead of getting ahead of myself here, I guess let things go as they are.
