Biden warns Netanyahu of US change as domestic pressure increases

Despite historic tensions with right-wing Netanyahu, days after the Hamas attacks, Biden, as a self-described “Zionist”, traveled to Israel and hugged the prime minister.

But Biden's rhetoric has intensified as the civilian death toll has surpassed 30,000 and the humanitarian situation has become even more dire.

Biden orders US air aid to be dropped into Gaza. He also approved a UN Security Council resolution demanding a ceasefire, angering Netanyahu.

However, Biden's words have not been matched by concrete steps to limit billions of dollars of military aid to Washington's key regional ally.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that the United States approved the transfer of thousands more bombs to Israel on the same day that WCK aid workers were killed in Israeli attacks.

American voters are increasingly turning against Israel's Gaza offensive. According to a Gallup poll released on March 27, a majority of 55 percent now disapprove of Israel's actions, while 36 percent approve.
