Rizvi said police picked up Monovarul from his home on January 13 and subjected him to inhuman torture the next day and night instead of producing him in court. There were injury marks on his head, back and entire leg.
Citing Monowarul’s father and brother, Rizvi said his party leader did not receive any treatment and died due to police torture.
Rizvi called for an international investigation into all custodial deaths, including that of Monwarul Islam.
