BNP candidate Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui got 141,253 votes with the symbol of paddy. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abdullah Talukdar got 71,040 votes with the scales symbol. Bangladesh Republican Party candidate MD Tofajzal Hossain received 1,492 votes with the elephant election symbol.
Tangail’s Assistant Returning Officer Suraiya Yasmin confirmed the election results.
