People concerned say that other committees will soon be dissolved and reorganised. However, many senior and central leaders had no idea about the sudden dissolution of so many committees, as there was no formal discussion on this at the party's policy making level. Like last time, this time too the announcement of dissolution of the committees was made by sending a press release to the media, which left many leaders who were left out dissatisfied and surprised.

However, Abdus Salam, convener of the recently dissolved committee of BNP's Dhaka city south unit, said the dissolution was “an ongoing process of party restructuring”. “There are going to be changes in all positions except Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, and I will work for the party and its movement wherever and whenever BNP deems me fit,” he told Prothom Alo on Thursday night.

People concerned said that Barishal city was the most inactive during the last agitation, where a committee was formed by removing Mojibur Rahman Sarwar and making Moniruzzaman Khan, who is considered a rival of Mojibur Rahman Sarwar, the convener, which attracted various controversies and internal strife from the very beginning. After the dissolution of the committee led by Moniruzzaman Khan, Mojibur Rahman Sarwar's supporters became active.

Mojibur Rahman Sarwar is currently the joint secretary general of the party. He told Prothom Alo, “Dissolving committees is a part of the political process. Now, a full committee or a convener committee can be formed. However, what is necessary should be done in coordination with everyone because during the tenure of the previous convener committee leadership, the party's movement and work suffered and no leadership was formed.”
