BNP did not accept the election results in Pabna-3 (Chatmohar-Bhangura-Faridpur) and Pabna-4 (Ishwari-Atgharia) constituencies.
In protest against this, their leaders and workers surrounded the office of the Deputy Commissioner and the District Election Officer from Friday afternoon and demanded re-counting of the votes.
According to the District Returning Officer’s office, a total of eight candidates contested the elections in Pabna-3 constituency.
According to unofficial results, Jamaat candidate Muhammad Ali Asghar won by 147,475 votes. His nearest rival Hasan Zafeer of BNP got 144,206 votes.
Meanwhile, in Pabna-4 constituency, Jamaat candidate Mohammad Abu Taleb Mandal got 137,675 votes. His nearest rival, Habibur Rahman of BNP, got 133,875 votes.
