BNP leader killed in RAB attack: Case filed against 42 leaders and workers

Hundreds of BNP leaders and workers attacked the RAB team with bamboo and bricks. At one point both sides started firing. During the clash, Jagir Hussain was shot, while an RAB vehicle was damaged.

Ukhia police station in-charge Sheikh Mohammed Ali told Prothom Alo that a case has been registered against 42 BNP leaders and workers for attacking the RAB. However, no arrest has been shown so far in the incident.

The OC further said that he was informed that Jagir Hussain, who sustained bullet injuries, died at the CMCH.

Claiming that the attack on the RAB was a “misunderstanding”, Cox’s Bazar District BNP president Shahjahan Chowdhury told Prothom Alo, “The BNP is peacefully organizing strikes and blockade programmes. But BNP leaders and workers are being accused of setting vehicles on fire and They are being forced to stay out of their homes by registering cases for vandalism and making them accused.
