According to sources, all the upcoming programs will be held simultaneously, the purpose of which is to create confidence among the people for a united and big movement. The BNP will take into account the upcoming municipal elections while determining the programs.

The BNP will neither participate in nor oppose the city elections. The party is rather focused on involving its leaders and workers in the movement through more city-based events. The nature of the upcoming programs is not yet clear and the party’s policy-making level leaders are tight-lipped on the issue.

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, another member of the National Standing Committee, said the entire country is suffering now. He said, ‘Whether the public takes out a procession or not is a different issue. The government is in a weak position and we cannot push them down – this is their (government’s) strength.”

The BNP leader also described the present regime as a poisonous snake which can only hiss instead of the strength to bite.

He said, “If you are not afraid, this snake will surely die.”
