DMP’s Detective Branch Additional Commissioner Haroonor Rasheed said the police would visit both the places on Friday before taking a decision. “We have reached a consensus.”
Facing questions from reporters on the impasse, Bulu said: “Politics is full of stunts. The police will not allow us to hold the rally at Naya Paltan and we will not go to Suhrawardy Udyan.”
He said they also discussed the arrest of BNP leaders and workers over the clashes in Naya Paltan.
He said DMP chief Farooq had assured him that steps would be taken to reopen the party’s office, which was closed after the clashes. Police cordoned off the area on Thursday and restricted the movement of people, terming the area as a crime scene.
