Lawyers representing the arrested BNP leaders, including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas, will file a writ petition in the High Court against the prison authorities for denying the leaders first-class division facilities in the prison.

Zainul Abedin Mesbah and Mohiuddin Chowdhury said they would file the petition on Tuesday.

“The order of division of the court should be followed by the jail authorities as per jail rules as many of them were former ministers and MPs.”

Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas were arrested on December 9 on charges of inciting an attack on police and detonating improvised explosive devices near the BNP offices in Naya Paltan.
