Border guard police from Myanmar flee to Bangladesh amid rebel clashes

Seven more members of the Border Guard Police (BGP) from Myanmar have fled to Bangladesh amid clashes between rebel groups including the Arakan Army and the country’s government troops.

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) on Tuesday said the number of BGP members who fled from Myanmar is 113.

BGB has disarmed him and taken him into custody.

Armed groups including the Arakan Army have escalated fighting along the Bangladesh and India border for several months.

They have jointly launched operations against the Myanmar army and taken control of several border towns in the process.
