The percentage of people living under moderate and severe food insecurity is 22 percent in Khulna, 18 percent in Chattogram, 17 percent in Rangpur, 13 percent in Dhaka, 12 percent in Rajshahi and 9 percent in Barishal division. Percent in Mymensingh.

At the national level, an average of 17 per cent people live in the range of moderate and severe food insecurity.

According to WFP, 42 percent of people need food assistance, 26 percent need medical assistance, 17 percent need educational assistance and 9 percent need housing assistance. But in reality only 10 percent people are getting this help.

In this situation, the government has to increase food assistance in areas where people are under food insecurity. Assuming that people are not dying of hunger, there is no room for complacency. What foods people are eating and whether those foods are meeting their nutritional needs need to be taken seriously.
