“Let me be clear, this will not happen and was never envisioned as a NATO mission,” Starmer said.

“It will be a coalition of partners, which is why we are working with partners in both Europe, the Gulf and the US,” he said.

His comments came as Trump said NATO faces a “very bad” future if the US ally fails to help reopen the key oil transportation route.
