Britain’s Channel 4 television said Monday it has removed all episodes of its reality show “Married at First Sight UK” and ordered an external review following allegations of rape and non-consensual sex by three women.
The BBC was to broadcast a “Panorama” investigation about the show on Monday evening, where contestants agree to have a mock wedding with a stranger and are then filmed living together.
According to the BBC report, two women alleged that their onscreen husbands raped them and one alleged that she experienced non-consensual sex.
Married at First Sight is a global TV franchise that originated in Denmark. The UK version, which aired for 10 seasons, has been billed as a “bold social experiment”.
