A Bangladeshi farmer Selim Hossain, 25 was working in his paddy field near border pillar
early in the morning yesterday; 5-6 BSF members entered Bangladesh and tried to take him
into India. He tried to resist but Indian border guards dragged him away.
Later his dead body was found hanging on electrified barbed-wire fence on the Indian side.
BSF members removed the body before the arrival of BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) members.
BGB sent a letter protesting the incident and asking BSF to return the dead body.
Selim Hossain’s father alleged that his son was tortured and beaten to death by BSF members.
This incident took place on Thakurpur border in Damurhuda of Chuadanga on Friday. It seems
BSF trying to say do not cultivate near Indian border.
