Eyewitnesses said that two persons tried to snatch the bag from a person. At one stage of the scuffle, the man was shot. After this the pedestrians got scared and ran away from the spot. Later, both the robbers snatched the bag from the bullet victim and fled on a motorcycle. Police could not immediately confirm how much money was in the bag.
Mohammad Harun ur Rashid, deputy commissioner of Motijheel division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told Prothom Alo that several motorcycles were present at the scene. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the people involved in the robbery.
