Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint general secretary of BNP, has commented that it is not just the footprints of famine, it is prevalent in the country.
He said, “The sound of begging, the sound of asking for food, the sound of asking for rice can be heard everywhere. “We have never seen so many beggars on the streets before.”
Rizvi said these things while speaking as the chief guest at an event organized by BNP acting president Tariq Rehman to distribute Eid gifts.
As stated in a press release of the BNP, the event was organized in the Naya Paltan area of the capital on Tuesday on the initiative of the Zia Projonmo party.
