There are some examples where common investors have suffered the most losses in the last two years.
The share price of Sea Pearl Beach Resort, which was Tk 44 in July 2022, rose rapidly and reached more than Tk 320 within six months. Inspired by the good returns, some ordinary traders invested in the stock and bought it from the manipulators at a price at least 200 taka higher than the regular price.
Later, the stock witnessed a huge decline and the price fell to 93 taka, causing huge losses to common investors within just six to seven months.
Investors in around 15-20 stocks including Emerald Oil, Paper Processing and Golden Sun went through a similar experience. Their money gets stuck as the manipulated shares do not attract any customers during the free-fall. Investors cannot even sell them at huge losses.
