Captain Shakib is eyeing two points against Pakistan in the final match of the World Cup.

“We are here to play the World Cup. Every match is as important as it is. Tomorrow’s match is no different from all the games we have played or will play in a few weeks. So, we will play one game at a time. We don’t think about anything other than performing to the best of our ability in tomorrow’s game and we want to perform better than Pakistan so that we can win the match.

Shakib even returned home for a day to practice with his childhood mentor Nazmul Abedin before the Netherlands match but things went from bad to worse. However, the captain believed that not only he but the entire team has a lot to show in the remaining part of the tournament.

“I think the whole team, more than me, talked about what we needed to do. There’s a lot to play with. As you know, we have to win to qualify for the Champions Trophy. I think that’s an important goal that we can set right now and to do that we have to win. We have no other option and this is what we would like to do.”
