MD Sarwar said authorities have initiated special security measures around four bus terminals, one launch terminal and the railway station in the capital.
To prevent harassment of passengers and overcharging, plainclothes detectives will be on duty along with uniformed police officers.
The acting commissioner of DMP also said that around 1,000 additional police personnel were deployed from morning till late night at shopping centers across the capital.
“Special surveillance is going on to stop the activities of muggers and pickpockets,” he said.
MD Sarwar further said that mobile courts will operate on the Purvanchal Expressway from Banani to Abdullahpur and Gulshan for several days from the day of Eid to prevent car racing and overspeeding in the largely empty capital.
