Several people were injured in an explosion outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Wednesday.
A photo from the area, confirmed by official sources, showed at least nine wounded or killed men lying outside the ministry as security forces tended to them.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said the blast occurred at around 4:00 p.m. local time (1130 GMT). He did not provide details on casualties, saying authorities were investigating.
The Taliban-run administration has faced an insurgency by Islamic State militants, who have targeted foreigners at sites including the Russian and Pakistani embassies and a hotel catering to Chinese businessmen.
