Chapainawabganj is now connected with Dhaka by train

Eastern and western zone of Bangladesh Railway was connected by Jamuna Bridge. Many cities of northern region are now connected to Dhaka by rail now and that is thanks to Jamuna Bridge. But unfortunately there was no train between Dhaka and Chapainawabganj. Now Bangladesh railway has started a shuttle train, which will swap between Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi. Then passengers will ride on Dhaka bound train Padma Express. Seventy seats will be allotted for them. They will buy only one ticket at 185 taka and Padma Express will not leave Rajshahi rail station without them. So virtually they are now connected to Dhaka, though they will have to face hassle of changing train.

Rail minister Suranjit Sen Gupta was present on the inauguration ceremony.  He informed that government is planning to renovate rail infrastructure at Chapainawabganj and it will be an important station for rail communication between India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
