Although the flood waters are receding, the signs of devastation are becoming evident in the port city and Chattogram.
About 50 km of roads in 41 wards of the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and crops on over 50,000 hectares of land in the district have been badly damaged by the floods.
In addition, 2.19 km of drains and 2 km of footpaths were damaged in Chattogram city.

UNB’s Chattogram correspondent found that the top layer was damaged on several roads in areas under CCC including Bandar, Halisahar, Muradpur to Oxygen, Bayazid Bostami, Khatibarhat, Zakir Hussain, Jamal Khan and Umar Ali Matobor.
The footpaths of the city’s Kazir Deori to Love Lane Road and Jubilee Road were inundated and potholes formed, causing immense inconvenience to the public.
