There is a provision for financial aid for workers through the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation, a welfare organisation for workers, but it is inaccessible to child workers because of legal barriers against child labour. The Department of Social Services has grants for children in distress, not for child labour.
However, due to lack of proper campaign the general public is not aware about these.
Ashraf Hussain, Deputy Secretary (Women and Child Labour), Ministry of Labour and Employment, said that due to social conditions the authorities are not able to eliminate child labour.
The government has launched a new scheme worth Tk 25 billion to prevent child labour, streamline child labourers and provide them technical education as well as other facilities.
