China said on Monday it was “deeply concerned” after the disappearance of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter, which Tehran's state media ruled an accident, and promised to help in the rescue operation.
The plane carrying Raisi, as well as Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and others, lost contact Sunday in northwestern Iran's East Azerbaijan province, the report said.
Iran's Red Crescent said on Monday that the helicopter had been found and that the situation was “not good”.
“The Chinese side is deeply concerned about the hard landing of the helicopter in which President Raisi was travelling, and we wish President Raisi and the crew on board the safety and well-being,” state broadcaster CCTV quoted Beijing's Foreign Ministry as saying. We do.”
