China launches weather satellite, flights avoid no-fly zone north of Taiwan

China has said it is incorrect to call it a no-fly zone, although Taiwan has issued a notice to airmen, or NOTAM, that uses the words “airspace blocked due to airspace flight activity”.

Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said some debris from the rocket launch had fallen into a “warning area” off the island’s northern coast, but did not affect Taiwan’s territorial security.

Flights to Taiwan and China, Taiwan and South Korea and Taiwan and Japan were circling around the zone on Sunday morning, according to routes tracked on FlightRadar24.
