Ambassador Wen said China supports Bangladesh in pursuing its Bangladesh First policy and playing a more prominent role in international and regional affairs. He said China is ready to advance cooperation in all fields with the new government of Bangladesh.

“Therefore, I am fully confident of a better future for China-Bangladesh relations,” he said.

The Chinese ambassador said, “I have not met the prime minister. However, as you know, we have a tradition of high-level visits, and we hope that will continue. As to when the next high-level visit will take place – whether within a month or later – we have not yet reached that level.”

As you know, America is imposing many difficulties and conditions on Bangladesh to build relations with China, especially in the military sector.

So would you like to say something on that, Wen said, “You know, our spokesperson has made two statements. You can refer to these two statements. But I want to emphasize that our relations with Bangladesh as well as other South Asian countries are aimed solely at benefiting the people of the region and they support that. Our relations are not targeted at any third party and should not be influenced by any external forces.”
