According to a readout of the meeting published by China’s Defense Ministry, Li also said that China is willing to work with Russia to “further strengthen the strategic communication between the two militaries”.
At the meeting, also attended by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Putin welcomed military cooperation between Russia and China.
“We are also actively working through military departments, regularly exchange useful information, cooperate in the field of military-technical cooperation, hold joint exercises,” Putin said.
“Undoubtedly, this is another important area that reinforces the particularly trusting, strategic nature of our relationship,” he added.
