Cold wave, fog likely to continue in six areas

There was such dense fog in the northern parts of the country that vehicles had their headlights on.

BMD meteorologist MD Hafizur Rahman told Prothom Alo that there is little chance of the fog clearing today. The temperature is likely to increase slightly from Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold wave has started amidst dense fog at many places across the country. The country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, Panchagarh. The temperature was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat of Kurigram. Apart from this, temperature was recorded at 9.6 degree Celsius in Kushtia, 9.8 degree Celsius in Rajshahi and 8.5 degree Celsius in Badalgachhi of Nagaon.

The BMD weather bulletin said moderate to dense fog may occur over the country during midnight to morning and may continue at some places till afternoon. Dense fog may temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport and road communications.
