College of Leather Technology was being operated by the directorate of technical education of education ministry. Government decided to merge the institute with Dhaka University.
An official contract was signed yesterday. Now the College of Leather Technology will be operated as a institute of Dhaka University. Students of this college will be student of the institute and also student of Dhaka University.
Treasurer of Dhaka University Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and director, directorate of technical education signed on behalf of respective parties.
Land, structures, furniture, lab, vehicles and laboratory apparatuses of the former college is given to Dhaka University.
Art College was merged with Dhaka University as an institute. New Institute of Leather Technology will be like that. Educationalists are hoping that quality of education will be improved under Dhaka University.
