Commissioner Anisur Rehman: If elections are not credible it is a failure of the state

Referring to the appointment of the highest number of executive magistrates in this election, Anisur Rahman said that this was done to ensure free, fair and neutral elections. If they fail for any reason to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the state itself will fail. This will isolate Bangladesh from the whole world.

Addressing the executive magistrates, Anisur Rahman said, “Elections should not be suspicious. Wherever necessary, immediate action should be taken. The Election Commission has only one instruction – free and fair elections. There will be no other instructions apart from this.”

Anisur Rahman further said, “There is no alternative to free and fair elections. Not only the 18 crore people of the country, but the whole world is watching us.”
