Complete ongoing projects quickly, take up new ones after investigation: PM

He suggested starting projects by examining certain things, such as the need of the project for a particular area, the reach of its benefits to the people and evaluating its contribution to the economy.

“Other things that have to be taken into consideration while undertaking big projects are – how much money will be required to complete the project, how much loan will be there, how much will have to be repaid, how much time will Bangladesh get to repay the loan and finally what Is Bangladesh able to repay the loan?

“We have to analyze these things properly (in starting any big project),” Sheikh Hasina said.

He asked the Planning Commission to consider keeping in mind his government’s announcement to transform Bangladesh into a developed, prosperous and smart country by 2041.

The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh will start facing the biggest challenge from 2026 after it graduates as a developing nation.

He also asked everyone to effectively leverage the fields that Bangladesh will get after its graduation.
