Comprehensive Initiative Called For Inclusive Growth

While Asia and the Pacific began to move towards growth after recovering from the shock of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine war and the subsequent global turmoil made growth highly uncertain in 2023, changing all equations.

Against such a backdrop, there is a need to ensure inclusive growth to sustain growth in the region, said speakers at the 17th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) at a Singapore hotel on Tuesday.

He stressed on tripartite dialogue to deal with the employment challenges arising out of rising geo-political issues.

Labor ministers and ministers of state from 19 countries including Singapore, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India and Bangladesh are participating in the four-day regional meeting. In total, around 500 delegates from 33 countries, including governments as well as owners and employees, attended the event.
